Meet our management team

Experts in giving your children the best start in life!

Meet Ann Briley, Nursery
Manager

My name is Ann Briley and I have worked in childcare for 35 years. After many years of babysitting whilst at school I developed a passion for childcare and decided this would be my chosen career. I started my journey by being a live-in nanny in Surrey (many miles away from my home in Manchester). I went onto work as an apprentice nursery nurse before qualifying and eventually progressing to managing settings. I have also  enjoyed a role as a Quality Development Manager supporting failing nurseries before returning to Millennium Minis as a Nursery Manager in 2019.

I have always had a passion for childcare as you can really make a difference to children’s lives and help shape their future by encouraging them to reach for the sky and embed a real love for learning. I have loved meeting and working with all the families who I have had the pleasure of working with and I have found that each and everyone of them has brought a uniqueness to the settings that I have learnt so much from.

I love to work as part of a team and truly believe that the team are the beating heart of any nursery and the most precious resource we have. I feel that you learn so much from each other’s experiences, backgrounds and interests and we can use this to support each other to be the best practitioners possible, delivering quality care and interactions with the children daily. I have recently trained to be the ‘mental health first aider’ for Minis as, as a company we recognise the importance of talking to and supporting our team who may just need a friendly ear and someone to sense check with.

In my spare time I love to go walking, read or listen to audio books but my real passion is for traveling. I have travelled extensively around the world, and I love to see different ways of lives and try lots of local dishes (sometimes I try to recreate these but overall, not too successfully).

Meet Paris Hector, Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Paris and I am the Deputy Manager of Millennium Minis Riverside.

I have been working in childcare since I left school in 2008 and I have found a home in the Minis family since 2017. Starting off with voluntary work in my local school, I discovered my love and passion for childcare and the impact we can have in teaching young minds through laughter and play.

I started my first job as a practitioner whilst attending college, allowing me to develop my knowledge along the way. This then enabled me to progress into Management making me the Deputy Manager I am today. I am extremely passionate about making a difference to the families and children coming to our nursery and watching them develop into strong, confident individuals that we encourage them to be.

Every day is different here at Minis and there is never a dull moment. We encourage the children to let their imagination take them on a magical journey with us as team joining in the fun.

Minis always strive to support each child to reach their full potential and build resilience, but also  support the staff too to reach their professional goals.

I am also the Nursery SENCO here at Millennium Minis. Minis spotted my passion and drive within this area and offered me the opportunity to train and qualify as a Nursery SENCO, building upon my career within the childcare industry and I couldn’t see myself working anywhere else.

Meet Karen Brooks, Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Karen and I am the Deputy Manager of Millennium Minis, Lakeside.

I joined Millennium Minis as Deputy Manager in 2021, I work three days a week, usually Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years. Through my career in childcare, I have worked in many roles from starting out as a Nursery Assistant, along with babysitting jobs through to being a Nursery Manager.

I absolutely love working with children, being able to offer new and exciting opportunities to our children and to support them individually to progress and develop. One of the favourite parts of my job is supporting children and families to settle into nursery life and seeing the children’s little personalities develop and blossom as they form relationships with the adults and peers in their room.

I have 2 children of my own, both boys aged 7 and 3. They keep me on my toes and very busy in my ‘spare’ time!

More than just a joyful place to be
