We have our own mental health first aider
Having Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace is crucial for several reasons and this is why Minis have invested in training for this role, to have a fully qualified mental health first aider within minis.
Support and Early Intervention: Just as we learn first aid to assist with physical injuries, it’s equally important to understand how to support those who may be struggling with their mental health. Mental Health First Aiders provide initial support, non judgemental listening, encouragement, and signposting to professional help for individuals experiencing poor mental health. Unfortunately, stigma still surrounds mental health, making it difficult for individuals to seek help. MHF Aiders bridge this gap by offering a listening ear, promoting early intervention, and signposting to additional sources of support.
Creating a Supportive Work Environment: Having Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace can create a supportive atmosphere where they increase awareness about mental health, support colleagues in need, and contribute to improved employee well-being.
As MHF Aiders also need to prioritize their own well-being to be able to provide support to others, we ensure that clear boundaries are established, ensuring the well-being of both the MHF Aider and the person being supported.
In summary, Mental Health First Aiders play a vital role in promoting positive mental health and we believe that their presence contributes to a healthier and more compassionate workplace environment.
