Millennium Minis

Meet our management team

Experts in giving your children the best start in life!

Meet Julie Coackley, Nursery
Manager and Childcare Director

I have been the Childcare Director at Minis Childcare since 2016, and currently the nursery manager for Millennium Minis.

I have been working in the Early Years for over 28 years, I have had opportunities to lead day care settings like Millennium, manage small charity nurseries, supporting families living in deprivation, run summer holiday camps, and before moving to Minis I was a Headteacher at a maintained nursery school, where the children were educated outside.

After leaving secondary school I went to college to study Early Years Studies, after which I continued my studies at university gaining a BA in Early Years and Education. I continue to seek to keep my knowledge up to date through regular training and development and am a committee member for Early Education London, where I support termly events for nursery workers across the capital to extend their knowledge and develop the sector, as well as having the opportunity to lobby government about policy and the best outcomes for the Early Years sector.

I have always been passionate about early childhood education and development, and I use this passion every day to enthuse my team, ensuring that every day we are providing the best possible care for the children at Millennium. I always support my team to access regular professional development opportunities so that we are always offering the best possible care to every child. As a result of this ambition, we are currently part of a study with East London University called the Early Conversation Project, and the NDNA study on music provision to support children with additional learning needs.

This ambition extends to the curriculum that we offer at Millennium; I work tirelessly with my team to ensure that our curriculum and pedagogy is meeting the needs of all children, and as a result children make excellent progress at Millennium.

I take huge delight in spending time with the children, who are happy, content, confident learners due to the quality of the care that we offer, hearing the laughter and seeing the smiles everyday fills me with pride.

Meet Paris Hector, Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Paris and I am the Deputy Manager of Millennium Minis Riverside.

I have been working in childcare since I left school in 2008 and I have found a home in the Minis family since 2017. Starting off with voluntary work in my local school, I discovered my love and passion for childcare and the impact we can have in teaching young minds through laughter and play.

I started my first job as a practitioner whilst attending college, allowing me to develop my knowledge along the way. This then enabled me to progress into Management making me the Deputy Manager I am today. I am extremely passionate about making a difference to the families and children coming to our nursery and watching them develop into strong, confident individuals that we encourage them to be.

Every day is different here at Minis and there is never a dull moment. We encourage the children to let their imagination take them on a magical journey with us as team joining in the fun.

Minis always strive to support each child to reach their full potential and build resilience, but also  support the staff too to reach their professional goals.

I am also the Nursery SENCO here at Millennium Minis. Minis spotted my passion and drive within this area and offered me the opportunity to train and qualify as a Nursery SENCO, building upon my career within the childcare industry and I couldn’t see myself working anywhere else.

Meet Karen Brooks, Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Karen and I am the Deputy Manager of Millennium Minis, Lakeside.

I joined Millennium Minis as Deputy Manager in 2021, I work three days a week, usually Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years. Through my career in childcare, I have worked in many roles from starting out as a Nursery Assistant, along with babysitting jobs through to being a Nursery Manager.

I absolutely love working with children, being able to offer new and exciting opportunities to our children and to support them individually to progress and develop. One of the favourite parts of my job is supporting children and families to settle into nursery life and seeing the children’s little personalities develop and blossom as they form relationships with the adults and peers in their room.

I have 2 children of my own, both boys aged 7 and 3. They keep me on my toes and very busy in my ‘spare’ time!

More than just a joyful place to be
